Watch this: Submarine

I've seen this film a couple of months back and I can't believe I haven't watched it sooner. I love how surprisingly funny it was, even funnier than what I expected. I actually love that about movies; how it exceeds my expectations and completely blows me away. But what drew me in further to Submarine is the beautiful soundtrack all by the beautiful, Alex Turner, from Arctic Monkeys. It falls perfectly in with the movie. To be honest, I had no idea Richard Ayoade was also a director. I knew of him from The IT Crowd. That show was absolutely funny. It's one of the Britcoms I watched along with Miranda, The Inbetweeners, and Fresh Meat. But really now, I urge you to watch this film. You can thank me later.

Gossamer

If you're one of those who have been the anticipating Passion Pit's new record, Gossamer, and can't wait for another 7 days, then head on to NPR because they're streaming it in its entirety. It's been 2009 since Manners and their newest record doesn't disappoint.

***btw, Vampire Weekend performed last Sunday at Pitchfork Music Festival. It's been 21 months since their last performance and it's great to see them play again [through the stream that is]. They performed a new track off their forthcoming album - New Song #2 (as described from their setlist) which is absolutely amazing. It's such a fun tune and one that could the crowd clapping along. I have a feeling the new record would be released early next year or hopefully, before the year ends. Let's cross our fingers. ***

What You Should Be Watching Too

The Newsroom. It's not hard to figure out why #Newsroom was a worldwide trending topic on Twitter for a couple of days during its premier weekend. It's smart and it's addictive. It's another brilliant show by Aaron Sorkin along with his clever writing. The content is deep but it's not too hard to follow. It's serious most of the time but then we see this guy struggling with this girl who's in a relationship with a jerk, and then it all seems too familiar. Nonetheless, it's great television and more people should be watching it.

Suits. Two good-looking men always in perfectly tailored suits, isn't that enough to get you to watch Suits? Apart from that, it's actually a great show. It's got a great hook and people are responding well that's why it is now on its second season. It's about this college dropout who finds himself working for one of NYC's biggest lawyers. If I had Mike's (the college dropout) photographic memory, I would like to annoy people with random things I read on the internet. Ha!

Weeds. It is now on its eighth and final season. In case you don't know the premise of the show yet, it revolves around this drug-dealing family. It's crazy to run down the list of the things they've done and where they've been to since living in their "little box" in Agrestic. The show is still as risqué and ludicrous as it used to be. It's not to late to get on with this show.

Awkward. It's quite silly if you think about how MTV is called music television and now they've been producing a lot of tv series, one of which is Awkward. This show is fun, cute, and downright awkward, which is why it's not hard to love this show. If you follow this show, you probably get asked this a lot. Team Jake or Team Matty?

The Weekend

It was my parent's 26th anniversary last June 28 and we just wanted a simple celebration. So on Sunday, we decided to have lunch at one of our favorites, The Boutique at Tagaytay. This bnb's actually pretty cool. We've always loved their baby back ribs. And a few years back, we were able to stay at the i Escape room and our cousins over at the i Lust room.
After our late, late lunch, we then headed to Bag of Beans for coffee and dessert.

Oh, going back to Saturday, we watched The Amazing Spider-Man. I can't even.
Also, I made my first Qwiki.
